2. The ManageUPSNET will ask you for a user

name and password. The default user name

is “admin”, the default password is

“admin.” You can change the password

once you have logged in.

3. You will be presented with an option screen

where you can conﬁgure and control the

ManageUPS

NET and the UPS.

File Transfers

Overview

The ManageUPSNET allows for all of its ﬁles to

be downloaded, except the ﬁrmware ﬁle, and a

few key ﬁles to be uploaded (see Appendix C,

page 45). The ﬁles that can be uploaded are the

ﬁrmware ﬁle, conﬁguration ﬁle, default settings

ﬁle and a graphic ﬁle.

When a ﬁrmware ﬁle (ﬁrmware.gz) is uploaded

to the ManageUPS

NET, the code running on the

adapter is updated. This allows you to easily

keep up with the latest features and patches.

When a conﬁguration ﬁle (adapter.cfg) is

uploaded to the ManageUPS

NET, the adapter

conﬁguration is updated to the settings speciﬁed

in the ﬁle. This allows for all or some of the

conﬁguration settings to be modiﬁed at once.

The conﬁguration ﬁle format is deﬁned in

Appendix A: Conﬁguration File Description.

When the default settings ﬁle (adapter.def) or a

graphic ﬁle (oemgraphic1.jpg) get uploaded

they replace the existing ﬁles. The default

settings ﬁle contains the settings that get applied

when the adapter is told to reset using the web,

telnet or serial interfaces. The graphics ﬁles can

be used to display custom graphics on the main

page of the web interface.

The following sections discuss the various ways

of transferring ﬁles to the ManageUPS

NET.
